Changing White PVC Windows
to Anthracite Grey Windows
Case Study:
Changing White PVC Windows to Anthracite Grey Windows
Client Overview: A homeowner in Hartley decided to update the aesthetic and performance of their windows and doors. The client wanted to give their home a more modern and stylish look while improving performance.
Project Objective: The objective was to replace the existing white PVC windows and doors with anthracite grey windows, a contemporary colour that complements the modern aesthetics of the home.
The font door we fitted was a composite door with a long rectangle glass design with a stylish pattern. We also fitted new sliding patio doors at the back of the property.

Key Factors for Change:
- Aesthetic Appeal: White PVC windows, although classic and neutral, no longer aligned with the homeowner’s updated design preferences. The client wanted a more sophisticated and bold colour scheme. Anthracite grey was chosen for its versatility, sleekness, and ability to blend well with both traditional andcontemporary surroundings.
- Energy Efficiency: The client was also interested in improving the energy efficiency of the windows. While PVC windows in general are good insulators, the new anthracite grey windows would incorporate modern energy-efficient glazing and framing technologies. This would help maintain better insulation, reduce heat loss during winter, and improve comfort levels inside the house.
Window Selection: After extensive consultation with the homeowner, the team identified high-quality anthracite grey PVC windows with energy-efficient glazing. The new windows featured double-glazing technology, which enhanced thermal insulation, and low-emissivity coatings to reduce heat loss while improving natural light intake.
Installation of New Windows: The installation was carried out by our installers with expertise in working with PVC windows. After the new windows were fitted, the installers conducted a thorough sealing process to prevent drafts, moisture infiltration, and ensure long-term durability
Conclusion
The decision to replace white PVC windows and doors with anthracite grey was a success for the homeowner. The project not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the house but also improved energy efficiency and reduced future maintenance needs. By opting for anthracite grey, a colour that’s on-trend and visually striking, the homeowner added long-term value to their property. This case study demonstrates how a relatively simple upgrade like changing window colours can have a substantial impact on a home’s appearance and overall performance.
